MarkMyShot is a desktop application for Windows. Everything it creates — screenshots, annotations, project files, settings and preferences — is stored locally on your computer, in folders you control (by default, your Pictures folder and the Windows AppData folder). The application does not transmit your screenshots, files, usage data or any other information over the internet.
MarkMyShot contains no analytics, tracking or telemetry code, and requires no user account. A local error log (errors.log) is written on your own machine to help diagnose problems; it is never transmitted anywhere. If you contact support, you may choose to share it with us — that is entirely up to you.
Licenses are sold through our payment provider (a "Merchant of Record"), which processes your payment and issues your invoice. During checkout, the provider collects the details needed to complete the transaction (such as your email address and payment details) under its own privacy policy. We receive from the provider your email address and license information so we can deliver your license key and provide support — nothing more. We never see or store your payment card details.
When you activate a license key, the key may be verified with our licensing service to confirm it is valid and within its activation limit. This check sends the license key and a basic machine identifier — it does not include your screenshots, files or personal documents.
If you email support@markmyshot.com, we will use your email address and the contents of your message solely to help you. We do not add you to mailing lists.
Since your content never leaves your computer, deleting it is in your hands — uninstalling the app and deleting its folders removes everything. For purchase-related data held by the payment provider, or to ask about any data we hold (such as support correspondence), contact us at support@markmyshot.com and we will help, including deletion where applicable.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will be noted in the application's release notes.
